Want your teen bound for college with a solid foundation in finance for life? At no cost, Harvard-educated Finance Professor Joetta Forsyth is seeking high school students or recent high school graduates for an exceptional 7-week educational experience, to begin June 29.
Course topics include:
- Understanding risk and its consequences
- Developing a cash budget and understanding the consequences of spending money
- Understanding loans and debt
- The importance of a good credit rating
- Investing wisely
- Planning for:
• Home ownership
• Future dependents’ college funding
• Retirement
- Insurance and controlling risk
- Street smarts: Financial advisor/broker conflicts of interest
- Financial scams
- Identity theft and maintaining a clean record on the Internet and for resume purposes
