AREA PET STORES TO STOP SELLING COMMERCIALLY BRED PUPPIES

Many pet stores in the greater Los Angeles area are teaming up with Pet Connections, Inc., to work on a plan to convert their stores from those selling commercially bred puppies to stores offering only dogs and puppies, cats and kittens from area shelters.

In the wake of increasing public awareness, protests and city ordinances prohibiting the sale of commercially bred or “puppy mill puppies”, area pet stores are taking the proactive step of teaming up with Pet Connections, Inc., to work on a conversion plan and business model where only shelter dogs, puppies, cats and kittens would be offered for adoption in their stores.
