New Light at Barrington Village

Thanks to the hard work of Tom Kalette the Village will finally get the additional lighting at Barrington Ave and Barrington Court that we have been asking for since January 2002. Tom has been informed by LA Street Lighting that this small project is slated for around September,
Once this is done, we will have light standards on all four corners of that intersection. People have been hit while in the crosswalk, and there have been many close calls.
The reason this took so long was that we did not want the project to fall under Ordinance 218 whereby the adjacent property owners would be assessed for the cost. But labeled as a safety concern, the City will foot the bill. Tom has been told this project has been funded.
