Carol Olson Coote has founded Her Own Society.
The long time Santa Monica based political and education activist has started her own blog, www.herownsociety.com, in response to the many requests she gets to blast information about political events, social ills apartments to be sublet or found, to her email list.

While the list of those requesting she type on their behalf was endless, her list and time were not so she started a blog to, “to save myself a lot of time, and streamline the requests,” wrote Olson Coote who also hopes that the blog will enable her long time recipient list (who she hopes share the address of her new platform with their lists) to be more effective in their own efforts on behalf of the causes these folks champion.
”The next time you need me to round up flutes for the Philippines, I will only have to update my blog including that information and hit ‘send.’ And when you tell me that you desperately need ‘wristwatches for nurses and doctors in Haiti,’ you can send the request to me through
www.herownsociety.com,” Olson Coote concluded in her first post.
That first post went live only weeks ago yet Olson Coote already has fans in high places like Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti who comments, “Carol Coote's blog is just like her: passionate, well-rounded, principled, and insightful.
