Mayoral candidate Eric Garcetti spoke to the Brentwood Community Council this last month and discussed his background, his Brentwood ties (he lived with his parents here during his high school years and came home to Brentwood while at college) and the need for innovation as Los Angeles struggles to improve its quality of life during challenging times.
Garcetti has particular multi-ethnic and geographic appeal as he reaches out to voters. He is of Italian, Mexican and Jewish heritage; he has lived in several parts of the city. He speaks fluent Spanish.
