Summer Fun With The Frugal Diva
Free and low cost outdoor Fun under the stars in August
By Susan Kessler | August 01, 2011
It is summer and frugal divas love to enjoy the great outdoors. My great outdoors means free cultural events in the open air. Sorry someone else will have to let you know about the joys of camping. Here are some of my favorites.
Century City hosts free movies every Wednesday night on the Level 2 Dining Terrace. See Pee Wee’s Big Adventure on August 3,2011 The Goonies on August 10,2011 and the original Footloose on August 17, 2011.
There's fresh air fun in Santa Monica too at the Santa Monica Pier Concerts that are free every Thursday night in August. Come early and take a walk along the Palisades, grab a snack at the Promenade, and enjoy the ocean view! This is why we put up with all the traffic.
The Brentwood Getty is not just for art lovers. They are hosting garden concerts for kids on August 6th, 13th and 20th from 4-5:30 PM. The only expense is a $15 parking fee and you can even bring your own picnic.
Farmers markets have become fun
places to hang out. Use this great website
www.Farmernet.com to find the one nearest you or be brave and venture out to one in another neighborhood. Meet other fresh food lovers, buy great produce, and enjoy my idea of the outdoors.
Now these are the things that make me a happy camper!
