Japanese students perform "Crane" in English
By John Gunning | September 12, 2013
The first week of November brings a breath of fresh air in the fall with the performance of "Crane" based on a story related to the tsunami that struck Japan. The students use no props or any other items on stage in line with the simplistic yet profound spirit that underlies Japanese art, including stage and to some degree film.
The students will first take acting lessons at Stella Adler, the renowned school in Hollywood then take to the stage to put into practice what they gained and learned during their workshops. The play will be performed in English, something the students have had to master which can be more challenging than the actually performing the play. There is no fee, they will appreciate your support and I am sure you will gain valuable insights into Japanese culture and the way they look at life, death and renewal.
