ART NEWS IN L.A.

By Adreana Robbins

By Caren J. Gafni  |  December 06, 2009

The art of Caren J. Gafni has been deemed nothing less than
sensational. Her paintings, (often mixed media), ignite the senses, yet at the smae time have a calming effect. A former psychotherapist, Gafni captures the healing in her
art and continues to be an inspiration to anyone wanting to make a mid-life career change. This burgeoning new watercolorist was first discovered in The Tolucan Times
cover story, August 5, (read the archive) "Discovering the Art of Caren J. Gafni" on www.tolucantimes.com) when she had her first group show at the Viva gallery with Artist
Co-op7; the group's classses retreats and workshops help artists develop an understanding of the right-brain approach to painting and the power of self-expression.
Jeanne Hahn, the Art Panel Director, Exhibition Coordinator, Teaching Team Supervisor and instructor of right brain figure drawing and watercolor say, "My friend and fellow artist, Caren is eager to pursue every creative
opportunity and challenge that she is able to get into. Caren's bold and spontaneous approach to art enables her to remain open and willing to continue to learn and grow. I find Caren's work engages and empowers both herself and the viewer with her artistic discovery. As she grows, the more Caren's watercolor paintings evolve and amaze me!"

Now through the end of January, Gafni has a painting on display at The Brentwood Library, located at 11820 San Vicente Blvd in West Los Angeles. Thus far, a select collection of Gafni's work is available for purchase at the Lurie Gallery in Studio City. More can be seen by private viewing through the artist and are available by appointment only. For more info contact: Peachapple@aol.com
