The Veterans Old Guard recently held a gathering outside the VA to celebrate the original deed granting the land to the government for the purpose of providing a home for disabled veterans. Anneke Barrie, a descendant of one of the families that gave the original land to the government, weighed in on the side of those wanting the VA to do more on the campus to house homeless veterans.
