Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee an appointment Free Life for Me - Maybe.

I’ve noticed a trend of late – service providers who offer one thing, do it well and accommodate walk-ins. There is Dry Bar and its clones where you can walk in with a rat’s nest on top of your head and walk out with lusciously blown locks with or without an appointment. Now there are other hair and massage services that do the same.
“After grey hair is colored, it usually starts to grow out in 2-3 weeks time, which means that women (and men) have to quickly come back into the salon to retouch their root area, which can add up in terms of time and monthly expense," explains Nelson Chan, owner of Nelson j Salon in Beverly Hills. His solution is the base color retouch which costs only $49 and involves the application of Aveda professional haircolor to the scalp to cover up to 1 inch of hair re-growth, and then using a special Japanese heat lamp that reducing processing time to 15 minutes.
The Touch Up Bar also offers the partial sun-kissed highlight also $49.00 where one can belly up to the bar and get 15 foils applied to the “rooty” area that will also process in 15 minutes and result in a more blended, and natural look. Neither of these services includes a blow out, by the way.
For those who are looking for a different sort of impromptu pampering, without regard for how their hair will look afterwards, there is Shangri La II in Pacific Palisades where you can walk in and for $30 (not including tip) indulge in a Tibetan Foot Massage which starts off with your feet in an herbal soak while the therapist rubs your upper body. Then, you’re stretched out on the chaise at which point the therapist continues the massage and then stretches you --- all while you remain dressed. You’ll leave feeling calmer, less sore and better able to conquer your “To Do” list.
For those whose multitasking mamas whose list is long and who can’t give up the scheduled life there is now Kuyam. Kuyam is an online platform that helps to organize your life by providing one virtual place where Angelinos can schedule multiple appointments easily, quickly and free of charge to users.
“With the mobile app it is now easier than ever to make appointments on-the-go,” said founder Kourosh Gohar. “While you are waiting to pick up your child at school or standing in line at the grocery store, you can book appointments at all your favorite local businesses – and discover new ones -- in just a few clicks on your phone.”
Regardless of whether you want to pamper your head or your toes, I hope that you’ll find a way to take advantage of this terrific new trend.
