My choice for a name for the Charlie Munger Project is:
WHERE DUTTONS BOOKSTORE USED TO BE.
No matter what goes into that space and no matter how architecturally grand, it will forever stay in my mind as where Dutton's Bookstore used to be.

The world changes in gross and dastardly ways but Brentwood, where we have lived for 46 years, stays as charming and warmly hospitable as always, despite a few minor changes.
Some examples are: Hamburger Hamlet morphed into the presidential eatery, known as the Tavern -- and the Safeway Grocery story devolved into a Longs before it eroded into the three-letter store (aka CVS). Resiliently and wonderfully un-changing is Vicente Foods, characterized by its hospitable free coffee adjacent to its terrific in-house Mamalo's bakery, a better-than-Juniors-deli, an intoxicating mini-winery, and a cast of characters (aka staff) who are our in-house pals.
Another magically wonderful Brentwood attribute is our Donald Bruce Kaufman library, which not only houses a fabulous array of books, but regularly hosts special (free) events such as poetry-readings, new book authors, etc.
As the lyrics from Nat King Cole's song go:
Stay as sweet as you are,
Don't let a thing
Ever change you.
Stay as sweet as you are,
Don't let a soul
Rearrange you.
So, no matter what the Charlie Munger Project is called, I will always refer to it as 'where Dutton's Bookstore used to be"

That Safeway used to be Liquor Barn, which was where I first saw and played a Pac-Man video game. |
