The Senior Scholars program offers over 125 classes in foreign studies, music history, film and television topics, philosophy, classic literature, sciences and more.
'Studies have shown mounting evidence that mental stimulation such as attending classes may help improve mental activity and brain health as we age,' said Dr. Gary Small, Parlow-Solomon Professor on Aging and director of the UCLA Center on Aging.
The Senior Scholars program handles registration logistics for participants. No prerequisites or class work are required to attend classes.
The deadline for registration is Sept. 21. For more information, fees or to view a catalogue of classes, please call the UCLA Center on Aging at (310) 794-0676 or go online at www.aging.ucla.edu/srscholarsabout
