Santa Monica’s Girl Scout Cadette Troup 5515 has earned a Silver Award – the second highest award offered by the Girl Scouts - as a result of their Love of Literacy Event. For the past two years members of 5515 – many of whom have been together in scouts for the past eight years – helped underserved students at Oak Street Elementary and Daniel Freeman Elementary in Inglewood by making bookcases, book bags and donating the books to fill both.
