PREECE & TOFF SALON OPENS A YOGA STUDIO AT FRED SEGAL SANTA MONICA

Los Angeles Hair Mavens Matthew Preece and Kristoff Ball have added a yoga studio to their full-service salon.

By Amy Sommer  |  August 19, 2009

Matthew Preece and Kristoff Ball’s complimentary styles have come together in their beautiful Zen space which now boosts a yoga studio.

'Adding the studio just made sense to us – it will help people de-stress in these challenging times and fits perfectly into our feel good mantra,' said Matthew Preece about the addition to their Zen-like salon.

The backgrounds of the two stylists differ: Kristoff is rooted in the world of rock and roll thanks to the tresses of Gwen Stefani (who he transformed from brunette to the blond diva of today), Pink (who owes her trademark rosy hue to him) and others whose looks he has created. Preece’s who hails from London originally spent two and a half years studying spiritualism in India. His devoted following includes many A list names ranging from Alicia Silverstone to Rita Wilson. The two met when they were both at Fred Segal Beauty which occupied the space before they took over and redesigned the space.

The duo plan to make their gorgeous space available for more than beauty; plans are in the works to host fundraisers, book signings, spiritual events and classes in hair styling techniques. As Kristoff says, 'I want the salon to also be a school -- and contribute to the beauty community through education via seminars and classes.'

Preece and Toff is located in Fred Segal at 420 Broadway, (310)907-4022.
