Fred Segal Beauty Closed

Fred Segal Beauty founded in 1992 by partners Michael Baruch and Paul DeArmas, is shutting down its hair salon. The closing is the result of an ugly dispute between the salon owners and landlords Fred and Michael Segal, who have not renewed the lease.
Baruch and DeArmas are suing the Segals after receiving notice that their lease was not renewed. The two allege that they have spent millions on renovations at the salon in Santa Monica and in planning the salon at the Melrose location. They claim their lease included an agreement to the exclusive rights to sell beauty products.
