Sock Drive for Homeless

By WLAPD  |  February 26, 2010

The West Los Angeles Community Police Station will be collecting new socks at the station's front desk in support of the Mayor's effort to collect census information on the Homeless.

We are located at 1663 Butler Avenue, LA 90025. 1 Block South of Santa Monica Blvd and 4 blocks West of the 405 Fwy. We are open 24 hours a day.

LOS ANGELES

Mayor Villaraigosa said. "Achieving an accurate count

of the homeless population will be critical in getting our fair share of resources to

provide housing and supportive services over the next decade."

"Engaging and counting thousands of homeless Angelenos is one the greatest

challenges we face as we work towards a complete count," said James T.

Christy, Regional Director of the Los Angeles Census Bureau office. "We

appreciate the efforts of the Mayor's Office of the Census to reach one of the

hardest-to-count communities in America by providing a basic need."
