Helping the environment and helping yourself to untold treasures has never been so easy! More than one hundred yard sales are planned for WehoGrnWknd, the City of West Hollywood ’s first free city-wide yard sale, to be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 and Sunday, May 15, 2011.
“By coordinating residents' yard sales we hope to encourage the West Hollywood community to keep useful items out of the landfill,” said West Hollywood Mayor Pro Tempore Jeffrey Prang . “Reuse is much better than recycling. Our goal is to once a year, turn West Hollywood into a city-wide thrift shop, helping the environment, our wallets and the community,” continued Mayor Pro Tempore Prang.
For one weekend, West Hollywood is turning into a citywide estate sale. Cruise for bargains all over town and go green by reducing waste and keeping valuable resources out of the landfill. Whether you’re trying to clear out your attic or searching for secondhand treasures, reusing items is one of the smartest ways to reduce waste.
