Broadway Gymnasts Qualify for National Championships
Broadway Gymnastics School’s (BGS) Boys’ Gymnastics Teams just completed their 2011 competitive season winning 49 Gold, 53 Silver and 51 Bronze individual event metals. This year BGS had four gymnasts qualify for the U.S. Men's Junior Olympic (J.O) National Championships, which were held May 4-8th in Long Beach, CA.

National qualifiers from BGS include Richard Chin, Jonathan Chin and Thomas Chin of Santa Monica and Bryan De Los Santos of LA. Richard Chin ranked 17th in the nation on High Bar in the Level 10 Prelims, which advanced him to event semi-finals. Richard placed 4th in the High Bar semi-finals, which only the top 48 athletes in the nation qualify.
The Men’s 2011 Region 1 Championships were held April 4-10th. Richard Chin won bronze on Pommel Horse, which advanced him to event finals as one of the five highest scorers in the region. Richard won Silver in the Pommel Event Finals. Jonathan Chin, Level 10, won Bronze on Rings, which advanced him to finals to take the Silver Regional title on Rings, 6th on Vault and High

Bar and 10th AA. Santos placed 8th on Rings and Thomas Chin, Level 9, won 10th on Vault. Luke Goldstein of Brentwood, Level 7, and Austin Pruitt of Pacific Palisades, Level 6, also qualified for regional championships. Pruitt won Bronze titles on Rings, Vault and AA in addition to winning 4th on Floor, 6th on High Bar, 7th on Pommel and 9th on Parallel Bars.
Southern California’s Men’s 2011 State Championships were held March 19-20th in Aliso Viejo, CA. Level 10 honorable wins include Jonathan Chin’s Bronze State Championship Ring title in addition to winning 8th on Floor and 9th on Vault. Richard Chin took 8th on Pommel.

ualifiers include Alistair Nash of Santa Monica from Level 6 and Goldstein, Aaron Kobayashi-Ritch of Malibu and Noah Slosberg of Beverlywood from Level 7. Goldstein placed 8th on Floor, 9th on Rings, 7th on Vault, 8th on High Bar and 9th AA and Ritch won 6th on Vault.
