The mayor of Malibu, Pamela Conley Ulich won first place at the 22nd Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon at Zuma Beach September 14 in the celebrity division. Participants included Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez. Each came in at fifth place in their divisions.

But the biggest winners of the race are the kids. For the second year, racers competed to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Pediatric Cancer Research Program. This year, the triathlon is expected to raise $950,000. The money will go a long way for the hospital, which provides for children who are seriously ill with pediatric cancer.
