Comings & Goings

After 63 years in business, Brentwood Stationers closed on May 22 due to the failing economy. Located in the heart of Brentwood, the store was frequently filled with neighborhood residents whose families had been going to Brentwood Stationers for decades.
Co-owner Allan McIntyre said he appreciated Brentwood’s support all these years.
“We would never have lasted and never would have been as remotely close to successful as we were if it weren’t for the continuous support of the Brentwood neighborhood.”
A family-run business known for its fine stationery, office supplies, and notary services, the store opened in 1947 under the ownership of the Fisher family. The Fishers owned it for eight years, until Peggy and Bill Fritz took over Brentwood Stationers in 1955. In 1969 the Fritz’s daughter and her husband, Margaret and Allan McIntyre, took over. They were Brentwood Stationer’s final owners.
