Souleiado: Brentwood’s Hidden Treasure
By Jeffrey S. Hall | December 21, 2010
If you are looking for gift items that people will cherish, spend a few minutes at Souleiado, tucked away behind Haven’s Gifts on San Vicente, just off the parking lot behind what used to be Duttons Bookstore.
Though the location isn’t readily apparent from the street, those who know Souleiado swear by its top quality, selection – and the excellent taste of proprietor Monica Sandstede. Sandstede is originally from Argentina, but spent years in France learning the retail trade. She is an expert when it comes to fine textiles, fragrances and hand-made European gifts. Items start at $15 and go up from there.
