I-405 Sunset Bridge Construction Continues

Brentwood locals are acutely aware of the terrible traffic that occurs on Sunset Blvd., especially during rush hours when it seems the whole town is headed home from work and school, each individual in his or her vehicle.
Sunset Boulevard is one the most frequented east-west roads on the Westside. 3,500 vehicles travel across the bridge during rush hour.
But the MTA says that once the bridge expansion project is completed in 2012, traffic should ease significantly. With the added lanes, there should be less gridlock as vehicles fight to get onto the 405’s on-ramps or to continue driving on Sunset.
The completed design will look as shown above and to the left. Other areas being reconstructed include the Mulholland Drive bridge, the Skirball Center Drive ramps and the Wilshire Boulevard ramps.
