Wilshire Bus Lane Plan Proceeds
By Brentwood News July 15 2011 Issue | July 19, 2011
Despite local opposition from Brentwood residents, the city council voted to proceed with a bus only lane on the north and south sides of Wilshire. Bill Rosendahl, Brentwood’s city councilman, was the sole vote against the plan.
Rosendahl said he wasn’t opposed to bus lanes, but objected to the fragmented nature of the plan. Santa Monica and Beverly Hills have chosen not to join the plan, and an area in Westwood called “condo canyon” was also exempted. For buses to go in and out of bus lanes could cause major traffic disruptions, according to opponents.
