Famed Venice photographer Marvin Rand has died at the age of 84

More than five decades of Los Angeles-area history were the subject of his particular artwork before he succumbed to heart disease at his most recent home in Marina del Rey. Among his works were a 1,500-photo survey for the Los Angeles Angeles Cultural Affairs Department and he was the author of three, all dealing with architecture.
