Benavente, born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and is presently living in California. She is internationally recognized for her distinctive “painting-like” floral photographs. She creates each striking photograph in her studio using a traditional large format camera and transparency film. The artwork is mounted on brushed aluminum.
Her work has been shown in galleries throughout the USA, Europe and Asia. Her purity of form has resulted in works that have won her many professional awards. The Professional Photographers of Los Angeles County recently honored her with the “2010 Photographer of the Year” award.
