By Brentwood News October 15 2011 Issue | October 17, 2011
Alvin Mills and the Brentwood-Westwood Symphony will now perform free concerts at University Synagogue. For many years, the concerts have taken place at Paul Revere Junior High School.
This season’s concerts will be held on Sundays, starting at 3 p.m., on the following dates: Nov. 13, March 4 and May 6. Admission is free.
The first concert will feature music by Aaron Copland (Fanfare for the Common Man; Billy the Kid); LA composer Bevan Manson; and Antonin Dvorak’s “New World Symphony.”
This will be the symphony’s 59th season. Founder Alvin Mills, now 89, will introduce Associate Conductor Diego Miralles to Brentwood on Nov. 13.
University Synagogue is located at 11960 Sunset Blvd.
